There's no baron collecting taxes, no guard patrols enforcing order, and no bureaucrats sticking their noses into your business. The trade off is that it can be a bit dangerous, out here, but my wife and I, we like the unpredictable nature of being out on the edge. Feron Weyman: [Talk] There's a lot around here to suit the soul seeking adventure. To the west lies the Great Fens, while to the north lies a pass through the mountains. To the southwest the road runs near Vorlag's Ruin, while to the southeast one find's a safer road that leads to the farms and towns of "civilization." To the east you enter a forest that will eventually dump you out on the edges of the Dreadmoors. If you don't want to travel far, you could poke around at the old mine, just a short distance northeast of here. Any of those places tickle your curiosity? [SquiiishMan] Tericho Allin: [Talk] woo! [fraz] Ruliff: [Talk] Tell me more about Vorlag's Ruin. Feron Weyman: [Talk] Vorlag was one of those barons who wanted to "tame the wilderness," carve out a nice little realm for himself. He built a fort on a bluff a few leagues to the southwest. It proved too much for him, though-not the dangers of the region, but the cost of maintaining a garrison and a community so far away from the main trade roads. When he died, his son abandoned the place. Now it's a haven for raiders and other unsavory types. I've heard there's a warren of natural caverns under the bluff, as well, but that could just be rumor. [fraz] Ruliff: [Talk] I see. Feron Weyman: [Talk] Was there something else?
